I have an idea for a check printing business that would target a niche market. These checks would be predesigned with images, cartoons, messages, etc. for these customers to choose from.

Does printing checks involve any unusual legal knowledge or restrictions? I.e. when Current or whoever prints my checks, do they verify the account and routing number? Would I also have to do this or is it a precaution? If I need special authorization, how do I obtain it? Does this business otherwise resemble a regular print shop?
