Its an interesting conflict. As a web site owner, I appreciate the need for adverts but as a user who almost never clicks them I can understand how and why users get annoyed and why they choose to block them. With the influx of advertising and such contrivences as redirection pages, I find myself not even visiting certain sites any longer.

Is there hope? We'll notice I said almost. There are certain ads I would like to see and thats relevant ads. If I am looking at a site about restraunts, show me a restraunt I might be interested in going to, or offer me a discount coupon if I go.

People will only respond to ads that they are interested in and will likely do anyway. Showing me advertisements about new cars doesnt interest me if I am not searching for a new car, but if I was - I might be interested in learning more about the latest sports coupe.
