Full featured online education portal

So, this is my full featured online education portal. A couple of people in this forum have seen this before probably.

Main Portal
Forum
Store
Directory

I'd appreciate feedback on this.

Yep, I've seen it before. The design is nice enough. Simple, which is necessary when you're trying to do so much with a site. The only thing I'd suggest changing is to dump phpBB and upgrade to vBulletin. You may have heard me say that before, though.

Let's say that I convert to vB. How easy is it to keep the current style while I convert to vB?

Well, there is a learning curve there, but your style is so simple that I couldn't see it taking more than an hour to build it. IMO, doing styles in vBulletin is far, far easier than phpBB. Actually, I should say that vBulletin is nearly ready to make a major release, version 3.5, so if you're seriously considering I'd hold until that's gold.

Does this release include features related to styling or it has a bunch of new features?

It's a major release, from what I've read there are changes in every single file. I've put further development of my vBulletin sites on hold until the gold is out. They released public beta number one today. Shouldn't be too long of a wait.

lets put it this way vb 3.5beta 2 is out and there are major changes planned for the next beta as well. vb has made some major code changes but in the template system(where styles are primarilly made) its almost identical to the 3.x series. there is definatly a curve learning vb but its well worth it. $160 for an owned license and most sites can make that back in a year or so. also i dont like to sign up on any forum other than vb/ipb (ipb i only sign up for on friends forums). yes i like vb alot but i wouldnt sign up on a phpbb board at all anymore. just some food for thought

glaucon, would you say that you wouldn't sign-up on phpBB because of the layouts, or some specific feature set, or something else?

I've borrowed some great ideas in VB layouts for some of my phpBB forums...
