Marketing your business

What are some of the things you do to market your business? Networking, mailings, referrals?

Re: Marketing your business

We get most of our business through referrals and networking but it is a lot of work however once you build up the contacts they seemed to be a constant supply of new clients

Re: Marketing your business

There are a couple of books that I would highly recommend:

"Book Yourself Solid" by Michael Port
"Get Clients Now" by CJ Hayden

Try those out first and they will get you started on a good foot.

Re: Marketing your business

I find that everyone markets differently, and that's AOK. So many things come into play when you determine what would be the best ways for you. Main thing to do is to monitor your efforts. When something doesn't work, fix it or dump it.

For example, speaking works very well for me in a variety of ways. However, if you hate speaking, don't want to do it, etc. ... well that will come across. Writing articles is great, I'm not a good writer, so I hired a copywriter to help me.

And above all, if your clients aren't coming from referrals, make sure that your marketing literature reflects your audiance (or your next audiance).
