Expanding your business

How have you balanced your business growth - we are a two person consulting shop and we have worked very hard with one client for a year and the project appears to be coming to a close. Unfortunately we have not done as good a job as networking for future jobs - but how do you find the time when you are working full time on a project - any help would be appreaciated

Re: Expanding your business

This is a difficult situation because many times the clients just wants you to focus on their business, but you need to be constantly networking. What I usually do with larger projects is hire (more than likely contract) a lot of the behind the scenes stuff out so I can focus on developing more relationships. But I will tell you it is more art than science

Re: Expanding your business

Despite what you existing clients feel you need to be out there getting ready for the next win and networking is the best way to do it as a consultant. If you wait until the project is complete you are already too late.

Re: Expanding your business

Sounds like you are busy enough to hire another person - a sales person who can develop more leads for you
