Bringing in a partner

I am a sole proprietor and I am considering bringing in a partner to help grow my business. Have any of you done that before? How did you structure the package? How did it work out?

Re: Bringing in a partner

There are only two things I can recommend - get the partnership agreement in writing and make sure whoever you bring in has complementary skills because if your firm is that small you are going to need a lot of different skills to be successfull

I couldnt agree more! I would also add if you are coming from a bigger consulting firm and are striking out on your own - remember not everyone is an entrepreneur. Some consultants do a great job in a corporate structure but many fail in an entrepreneurial setting.
