| Re: Joomla Here is a more extensive definition: Joomla is a free, award-winning content management system written in PHP which allows users to easily publish their content on the world wide web and intranets. Joomla is created as an open-source project where individuals and teams contribute their skills to its development as well as its supporting systems. While Joomla is packed with features, its greatest quality is that it is extremely extensible. Because of its extensible structure, there aren't many things you cannot do with Joomla. A short list of some important features of Joomla are the following: Page Caching Web Indexing RSS Feeds Printable Page Versions Newsflashes Blogs Forums Polls Calendars Website Searching Language Internationalization |

| Re: Joomla Quote:
Joomla can help non technical people manage the content of their sites to a certain extent on their own. Joomla allows the admin (a non technical business owner) to login and edit the look of the pages (text, pictures, postition, menu) , addition of extra pages etc to be modified on their own once the site has been built. Since Joomla is open source its free. and you can find good amount of modules for all practical addition to your sites. We have build many sites in Joomla and our clients are quite happy with the solution. They dont have to contact us or anybody else for small changes they need to make to their site. | Re: Joomla Joomla is awesome! My company uses it and it is great. By far the best CMS system that I have used. Another good one out there is Drupal.org. I personally like Joomla, but many people like Drupal just as much.

| Re: Joomla They are two different cms systems. Drupal has up until this point been considered better for coders, because the could get under the hood. However, Joomla 1.5 has updated and cleaner code. I prefer the interface of Joomla better. You can go to both website and try them free. See which one you like better.

| Re: Joomla Personally, I prefer Drupal (for larger content sites) or Wordpress (for blogs and very small sites) over Joomla! -- but I do have more of a technology background. To each his own, I suppose. |
