Other than for tutorials and perhaps if your a web designer why would you use flash am I missing something?

I agree it has limited use but I like to use it for my pull down navigation buttons but I am still amazed at the number of people who still use it to impress first time visitors and to irritate second time visitors.

I use it for navigation purposes as well but that is it.

If your intent is not to score high on the search engines, rather you get most of your clients via advertising or through direct mail then I can see using it. I think they work well with art related sites i.e. painters, photographers etc.

I agree I think Flash gets a bad rap probably because people are selling it for the wrong reasons but in many instances I think it is appropriate as you have mentioned for some businesses.
