One h1 per page. You can check here for header ordering: http://www.dur.ac.uk/its/services/we.../headerlevels/ You also have a lot of validation errors http://www.htmlhelp.com/cgi-bin/vali...k&warnings=yes And I cannot see a links page. You will need one of these if you are thinking of exchanging links. I looked all around your home page and couldn't see one. May be I missed it, but I didn't see it. Nice clean site. Maybe a little too wide for people with smaller monitors though. People with < 800 will have problems with a lot of webpages. I was a fluid design advocate for quite some time, but redid http://castleamber.com/ this week, and I like it much more then 200 1em characters at 1280 x 1024. -- John Perl SEO tools: http://johnbokma.com/perl/ Experienced (web) developer: http://castleamber.com/ Get a SEO report of your site for just 100 USD: http://johnbokma.com/websitedesign/seo-expert-help.html |

| Re: search engine submission software Whoops! Learning all the time! Thanks for the warnings everybody. Back to the drawing board then. Does the <h1> tag have to have <h2> below it or can I just leave my first one in place and modify the others to look the same with formatting? | Re: search engine submission software Thanks for the compliments on the site. Although I maintain it and helped with the design, its final look was largely down to a fledgling web designer so I can't take the credit. Unfortunately though I don't think she was aware of the all the SEO rules at the time so that's why I am trying to ride the learning curve on this. Is there any sort of SEO bible or SEO for dummies out there? Something that starts from basics and doesn't assume too much of an in-depth knowledge of HTML? (although I know that might be a contradiction in terms!) But it is a good thing to do (morally) to put something in to help handicapped folks. Sooner or later there'll be some big publicity about this as pretty much all uk government related sites are wildly in violation of their own acessibility guidelines. I'm guessing that the papers haven't picked up on this because they reckon joe public won't understand it anyway. BB -- www.kruse.co.uk/ seo@kruse.demon.co.uk seo that watches the river flow... -- |
