Keyword Density

How high is maximum keyword density please? I've been told 6-9% is ideal. Does this change if there is more text?

Re: Keyword Density

The optimum density for any web page should be between 3 and 7 per cent. Many website owners think that the more often the keywords are repeated, the higher it will be ranked in the search engine. THIS IS A WRONG ASSUMPTION. If the keywords in your web page are repeated too often, then the search engines believe that you indulge in "keyword stuffing" and can penalise you for that. Keyword stuffing is considered a type of spam.
The best thing to do is maintain a balance between the number of words in your page and the number of times you insert the keywords in the content. With the right balance, you can get an attractively worded web page and also guarantee your web page on the search engine.

Re: Keyword Density

Keyword density is important because search engines use this information to categorize a site's theme, and to determine which terms the site is relevant to. The perfect keyword density will help achieve higher search engine positions. Keyword density needs to be balanced correctly (too low and you will not get the optimum benefit, too high and your page might get flagged for “keyword spamming”).

Re: Keyword Density

Keyword density is an important factor for onpage optimization. Using a keywords three times on your index page is just enough. You can't overuse your keywords, otherwise Google will consider you as spam.
