Indexed by google

Does any of you guys know how long it takes to get indexed by google? My homepage is online since about 4 month and the googlebot is going over my page regularly but i dont get indexed in google. Don't see any reason for that. I am not banned either (google page rank indicator is not grey, just white).

Re: Indexed by google

It usually takes 2-4 months. Try searching for your domain in google you may find that you are already there.

Thats about the time that I have seen as well you should look at some tools to see if they have crawled your site. Just search for SEO tools and you will find a wealth of sites.

Re: Indexed by google

A new Web site is considered unpopular, because it lacks link popularity. That is if no other page on the Web donates a link to a new page, Google usually will not index it. Googlebot may fetch it every once in a while, but it will not be visible on the SERPs. This makes sound sense. First, if nobody except of the site owner considers the site's content important enough to link to it, why should it be important enough to debut on the Web via Google's search results? Second, caused by an overwhelming amount of spam Google has to deal with, many (not all!) new sites will not be placed on the SERPs during a probation period, which can last 6 months, a year, or even longer. This probation period is also known as sandbox, the only escape is reputation. A Web site can gain reputation, when it receives well formed natural links from trusted resources

Are you asking about the PR bar itself? Where you would see the P4 (or whatever)? Or are you speaking of ranking in terms of searches?

My site went live last summer and it got a P2 within the first two weeks. It quickly went to a P3, but just the home page. Just this week (January) most of the other pages ranked a P3 also. However, it's taken until just recently to be ranked well in searches. So it took about 6 mos for my site.

It is crucial to get lots of backlinks. One great way is to attach your url to your signature on posts. I notice you did not do that here.

It is my understanding and my experience that by developing natural links to your site, which takes time, you are better rewarded when it comes time to getting indexed. It takes patience and hard work to get there.
