Signature Guidelines

Hi All,
I haven't seen anyone's signatures that has annoyed me, but before it happens (which I'm sure it will), I'd like to give some guidelines on how people should use their signatures here.

Use up to five lines in your signature. That's plenty. We don't need anyone having a sig file the lenght of War and Peace.

Use the standard font size, huge text is annoying. Use different colors, bold, italics or whatever else to call attention, but no huge fonts.

Link to your website, or websites. I'll reserve the right, however, to disallow a link if the subject of your site is terrible (****, hate speech, illegal stuff).

You can use your best elevator pitch in your signature, as long as it's in good taste (no cursing, ***** language, or even hinting at such).

No banner images of any sort. You can use smilies if you wish, but that's about it as far as images go. If you want to use your logo, put it in your avatar.

That's about it. I actually encourage you to use your signature file to let other members know what business you're in. That's the only place I want to see you self-promoting, though. Your profile has a place to put your url, and you can have it in your signature. Use your avatar space for whatever image you want, within good taste.

Thanks!
