Re: Starting a new business

Usually the best source for filings is your state's website in the Secretary of State section. The IRS has some great publications on the various type of corporate options you may want to consider.

Re: Starting a new business

To be sure I would go to your accountant and/or lawyer but most people start out as a LLC and there are forms available online. For your particular industry you may want to go to an association related site for advice.

I would also look at industry association websites they often have valuable information about what you need to do to start a business in that industry.

Re: Starting a new business

I offer a start up kit at my site (see below). It was developed to help others that wanted to start their own small business but didn't know how to proceed. It features a Timeline Instruction manual to show you step by step what to do and a book that teaches you how to write your own business plan along with lots of other resources, forms, etc. There is also a free preview eBook. Check it out.

Re: Starting a new business

This site sells a lot of corporate forms including LLC certificates, Stock Certificates and Corporate Documents depending which type of corporation your form.

I would also talk with someone in SCORE - an arm of the Small Business Administration. They are retired executives in your field.
