Benchmarking Your Small Business

Does anyone know a good place to compare your small businesses financial performance to the industry to identify problems or areas to improve?

Is it really that important to benchmark-financial numbers for each firm are so different is it really that helpful?

Yes I think they are still important but only an indicator of potential problems and they should be used

I agree but you have to be very careful in putting too much faith in just a number. There are so many reasons why a company can be out of wack with one particular line item.
